OUR FUTURE & ASI

The emergence of Artificial Superintelligence (ASI) will fundamentally transform human interaction with technology.

We're staring into a future where machine intelligence might begin to outstrip human comprehension.

ASI will accelerate change at an unprecedented pace. Artificial systems will generate innovations so complex that they become essentially indecipherable to human understanding.

The big challenge lies in aligning ASI with human values. There's a risk that superintelligent systems could pursue logical goals that are misaligned with human welfare. Imagine an AI tasked with solving climate change that determines the most efficient solution involves radical population reduction...

Human adaptation will require developing a new form of technological trust where we become comfortable accepting solutions and decisions from systems we cannot fully comprehend – much like patients now trust complex medical diagnostics they don't understand.

This trust won't come easily. Cultural resistance will be significant, particularly among those who perceive AI as a threat to human agency (not to mention the laggard technophobes).

AI-driven automation will create unprecedented economic disruption, potentially rendering entire job categories obsolete while simultaneously generating entirely new economic paradigms.

The divide between AI-literate individuals and those left behind could become the defining socioeconomic challenge of our era.

Education needs radical reimagining. The skills required to coexist with superintelligent systems will be dramatically different from those that defined previous generations' success.

ASI will challenge our fundamental understanding of intelligence and consciousness, which is where my personal research is headed...we'll be forced to reconsider what makes human intelligence unique, to revisit the definition of consciousness, potentially redefining our species' role in a world where we're no longer the most intellectually capable entities.

Humans have always been the intellectual top dog on planet earth. ASI represents a moment where that assumption becomes questionable.

Successfully integrating ASI will require unprecedented collaboration between technologists, ethicists, policymakers, and philosophers. We'll need adaptive regulatory frameworks that can respond to technological change at machine speed while maintaining human-centric ethical boundaries.

The future is complex, exciting, and a bit bloody terrifying.

I for one am going in with my eyes wide open.

HeyGen.com Clone yourself (voice and image) to create realistic talking head videos from a written script, I honestly cannot tell the difference. This blew my mind, and it is great fun! You can also create custom avatars, and speak in different languages! I have always wanted to be an Icelandic influencer 🤔

Intch.org (not sure how they qualify for .org but…) These guys are trying to pinch LinkedIn’s sandwiches. It is a combo of freelancer job posting and networking. They focus on part time work and side hustles, so if you are looking to hire but not commit, it might be a place to look 👀
